Roberta is 42 with ovarian cancer. She contacted us herself after being lovingly “pressured” by her doctor’s office. The nursing staff at Dr.Cunningham’s office in Syracuse really encouraged her to reach out to us. They wanted her to have this experience and their “nagging” paid off! Roberta is a former nurse herself and has a tremendous heart.
As a wife to her husband, Chet, and mom to their 7 year old son, Jacob, it’s no wonder why she is fighting so hard. After years of trying hard for children she was blessed with the love of her life, Jacob. Being his mother is the single most important job of her life. Roberta is also the youngest of 5 kids and she is their “baby”. How much they adore her is an understatement! As soon as pulling into the driveway the smiles and laughter came easy and were very contagious! It was a gorgeous day and we took full advantage of it! Roberta gets cold very easily and it was extremely windy outside but she was a trooper and smiled through it all. After being asked several times if she wanted to go inside she would say, “I’m cold, but I’m good. Let’s keep going!” In the summer of 2014 she had been told she had 6 months left. She doesn’t believe in numbers and continues to live everyday to the fullest. Please feel free to take a peak into a tiny sliver of Roberta’s beautiful life.
