Three weeks ago today Jennifer was diagnosed with an inoperable stage 3 breast cancer, an aggressive form-infiltrating ductal carcinoma. She begins an aggressive treatment for 18 weeks and she will be celebrating her 40th birthday.
Married to Brett for 17 years and mother to two children, Nick and Becca… this diagnosis has hit them all very hard. Having some pain on her side, doing a self exam, and immediately making a doctor’s appointment confirmed their worst fear. Jen is a fighter and despite being scared with the uncertainty of what lies ahead, she is gratefully more overwhelmed with the love and support that has been given to them.
Jennifer is an accomplished equestrian. Being initially taught by her own mother, she has been riding horses since she was 3 years old. Despite being allergic to horses she rides nearly every day as she is also a riding instructor. Jennifer has passed this love of horses onto her daughter, Becca, who rides and competes as well. This is their “thing” they do together. She knows she will not be able to ride for quite a while and it is quietly breaking her heart. Regal and Ernie (their two horses) are part of the family too and we wanted to make sure to include them!
